Meet the 441K 'everyday millionaires' created in the US in 2025

A new report from UBS reveals a significant surge in wealth creation across the United States, with over 441,000 new millionaires emerging in 2025. That works out to roughly 1,200 new millionaires being minted every single day last year. The bank is calling this group "everyday millionaires," a term meant to describe individuals who have built their wealth through steady income, disciplined saving, and long-term investing rather than through inheritance or a sudden windfall.

The trend highlights a shift in how Americans are accumulating assets. Many of these new millionaires are not high-profile executives or tech founders but rather professionals in fields like healthcare, engineering, and finance who have benefited from a strong stock market and rising home values. The report suggests that consistent contributions to retirement accounts and a focus on diversified portfolios have played a major role in pushing more households over the seven-figure mark.

Morning Brief Host Brooke DiPalma discussed the findings with Yahoo Finance Senior Reporter Pras Subramanian and Payne Capital Management President Ryan Payne. Subramanian noted that the rise in everyday millionaires reflects a broader resilience in the economy, even amid concerns over inflation and interest rates. Payne added that many of these individuals are maximizing their spending and investing by sticking to basic principles: avoiding high-interest debt, taking advantage of compound growth, and staying invested during market volatility.

While the number of millionaires is climbing, the report also underscores a growing divide. The wealth is concentrated among those who own assets like stocks and real estate, while renters and those without investment accounts continue to struggle with rising costs. For the new millionaires, the challenge now is preserving that wealth and passing it on without losing it to taxes or poor financial decisions.
