LONDON and NEW YORK, August 10, 2026 - Vertical Aerospace, the company developing the all-electric Valo aircraft, has lined up roughly 100 million dollars in fresh financing. The money comes from a mix of current backers and new investors, and it is meant to keep the certification process moving and push the aircraft closer to commercial service.
The company, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker EVTL, said the commitments will support continued work on the Valo platform. That includes finishing the flight test program, working with regulators on type certification, and getting the manufacturing and supply chain ready for production.
This is a significant cash injection for a company that has been working for years to bring a piloted, four-passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle to market. The Valo is designed for short urban routes, and Vertical has said it aims to be among the first to get such an aircraft certified by aviation authorities.
The announcement did not break down exactly how much comes from existing shareholders versus new participants, but the total is expected to close in stages. Vertical has previously said it needs steady funding to reach its milestones, and this round should cover a large chunk of the work ahead.
The company has faced delays before, like many in the eVTOL sector, but management says the focus now is on disciplined execution. With this new capital, Vertical says it can keep its timeline on track and continue building toward the day when electric air taxis are a normal part of city travel.
